It may surprise you that you can pull together incredibly effective, non-toxic and inexpensive cleaning products from ingredients you already have in your home! Combined with the power of essential oils, these products can be more effective than chemical treatments and MUCH safer!

Always use glass containers to house your essential oil creations. The oils are sought after for their ability to break down impurities...so what is plastic? You got it! LOTS of impurities! The oils will eventually break down plastic.

All Natural Cleaning Recipes

"Better than Lysol" Cleaning Spray

8 oz glass spray bottle
8 drops Protective Blend
water

DIRECTIONS: Fill bottle with water, add Protective Blend. Shake before each use. Use on all hard surfaces and/or as an air freshener that also helps purify the air.

All-Purpose Cleaner

1/4 Distilled White Vinegar
1 3/4 cup water
30 drops Citrus Oil (Lemon and Wild Orange are favorites)

DIRECTIONS: Mix together in a 16oz glass spray bottle. Use on all hard surfaces, including mirrors! Some recommendations for essential oils combinations are 15 drops each of lavendar and lemon; 10 drops each of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, and Wild Orange; 30 drops of Protective Blend; 15 drops each of grapefruit and Protective Blend)

Wood Polish

1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup vinegar
10 drops wild orange or lemon oil.

DIRECTIONS: Comnbine ingredients in an glass spray bottle. Spray on soft rag or directly on wood surface. A little goes a LONG way! Wipe clean.

Natural Stone Cleaner

1 part Hydrogen Pyroxide
3 parts water
1/4 tsp. Liquid Castile Soap
3 drops Lemon
2 drops Wild Orange
2 drops White Fir
1 drop Douglas Fir.

DIRECTIONS: Add all ingredients into an 8 oz spray bottle and shake well. Wipe your counter tops with a damp cloth to remove any crumbs and food debris. Spray countertops with the Stone Cleaner and wipe with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel. I try to make this fresh each time I use it because the Hydrogen Pyroxide loses its efficacy over time once it's been removed from its original packaging (they have a specifically designed delivery system in their bottles to maintain its integrity).

Soft Scrub

Soft Scrub

3/4 cup Baking Soda
1/4 liquid Castille Soap
1 Tblsp water
1 Tblsp white vinegar
5-10 drops lemon oil

DIRECTIONS: Add all ingredients to a mason jar, mix well. Apply a small amount to surface to be cleaned and rub in with a sponge. Let sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse clean with water.

Deep Cleaner

1 part vinegar
2 parts water
2 drops lemon oil
3 drops melaleuca oil
1 drop clove oil

DIRECTIONS: Combine ingredients into a glass spray bottle. Shake well before each use. Spray on surface, leave for 1/2 hour, then rinse.

Carpet/Matress Cleaner

one mason jar
Baking soda
15 drops lavender oil

DIRECTIONS: Add drops to the jar full of baking soda, shake well to mix. Sift powder onto carpets and/or matresses, wait at least 2 hours. Then vacuum it up. Also helps prevent bed bugs!

Dishwasher Powder

2 cups Borax
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup citric acid
1/2 cup kosher salt
5 drops lemon essential oil

DIRECTIONS: Combine ingredients in container. Mix well. Add about 2 tablespoons per load.

Powdered Laundry Detergent

Powdered Laundry Detergent

1 bar castille soap
2 cups Borax
2 cups super washing soda
1 cup baking soda
30 drops essential oils (recommend Protective Blend or equal parts lemon and clove)
Grate castille soap and combine well with all ingredients. Store in air tight container. Use 1-2 Tbl per load for a basic sized washer. Fully dissolves at all temperatures and works well for HE washers.
